You must submit Assignment Request Forms (ARF’s) for part-time, overload, and summer-school assignments by the deadline or you may not get an assignment. If you miss the deadline, faculty who are lower on the priority/longevity list who turned in their ARF’s on time will be assigned before you.
The Summer and Fall 2011 ARF’s are due during the second week of the Fall 2010 semester. You will need a district e-mail account to access an ARF electronically. If you do not have a district e-mail account, you can obtain one by calling the IT Help Desk at (805) 652-7777. Paper ARF’s are available at the office of the executive vice-president at each college and the Human Resources Department at the District Administrative Center in Ventura.
1. To access an ARF, go to the district website at www.vcccd.edu . On the menu at the left side of the page, click “Employees.”
2. When you arrive at the Employees page, click on “Human Resources” under Intranet Links. You will arrive at the log-in page for HR forms. Log in using your district e-mail ID and password.
3. When you arrive at the Human Resources Intranet page, scroll down to “Change of Status and Other Miscellaneous Forms,” and find “Assignment Request Form (ARF).” There are separate links for the Summer ’11 and Fall ’11 forms. After you open an ARF, you will be able to type your information into the form. Your union recommends that you indicate maximum availability and, for your third choice of courses, that you write, “Any other course in my department/discipline.” Save the form to your computer as “your name” followed by “ARFSP11.” For example: JDoeARFSP11.
4. At this point you may decide to 1) print the form and hand-deliver it or send it by US mail to the Human Resources Department or 2) submit it electronically.
5. If you decide to deliver it yourself, be sure to get a date-stamped copy for your records; if you decide to US-mail it, be sure to keep a copy for yourself and send it certified with a return receipt requested.

It is recommended that you print out and keep 1) your ARF, 2) the e-mail to which you attach it, and 3) the return receipt e-mail you receive.
ARF’s will not be accepted at the colleges. They must be delivered or sent to the Human Resources Department at the District Administrative Center in Ventura.
